International students can apply for scholarships from George Brown College in Canada. George Brown College has different types of financial help for students from other countries. Both full-time and part-time students at GBC can apply for awards and opportunities. The Awards program at George Brown College provides money to help students succeed in their studies.
George Brown College Scholarships
Students must apply through STU-VIEW by selecting International Center Scholarships and be enrolled full-time in the program as an international student in order to be eligible for any of the awards listed below.

Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs
Help with Global Service in Canada Ltd. Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc. has given money to create the Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs. Any international student at George Brown College can apply for this award, regardless of their year of study or program category.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
- The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)
International Centre Student Bursary
This award is available to all registered international students at George Brown College in any year of study for all programs
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- The student must display financial need
- The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)
International Student Leadership Award
The award is available to any international student graduating from their program.

International Student ESL Scholarship
International Student ESL Scholarship is awarded to a student in the ESL Program.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- Student must be an international student
- Student must be enrolled in the 3rd module.
- The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
International Student Scholarship
International Centre Student Scholarship is available to full time international student in any program.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- Student must be an international student
- Student must display financial need
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Student must overcome obstacles
Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students
Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc. is a company located in Toronto. has given money to create a scholarship at Kimokran (Toronto) for students from other countries. This award is open to all international students at George Brown College who are registered and in at least their second year for any program in this category.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
- Student must be a registered domestic student
- The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)
Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Certificate
The award is available to students in the Certificate, Post-grad program in any year of study.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- Student must be an international student
- Minimum GPA of 3.5
- The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)
Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Diploma/Degree
The Academic Area has given money to create a scholarship for international students who want to continue their education after high school.
The prize is for students who are studying in their second, third, or fourth year of either a Diploma or Degree program. They must also be participating in an approved international work/study opportunity.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries
The Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries have graciously provided $100,000 (100 bursaries at $1,000 each) for International students.
The following criteria must be met by the applicant:
- Students must be registered in a full-time program
- Students must demonstrate a financial need
Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarships
The Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarship is for students who are starting their first year at George Brown College. It is available for any type of program, such as diplomas, degrees, or post-graduate certificates. Students who are studying at partner institutions of GBC in the Caribbean, China, Central/South America, and India are encouraged to submit their applications.
Two scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded each academic year.
Qualifications
- be an international student (required to have a valid Canadian Study Permit)
- must be studying in the first year of a full-time post-secondary program
- possess an excellent academic record (3.0 cumulative GPA)
- have demonstrated leadership in activities that have made contributions to the learning environment and
- participated in academic activities related to the area of study or student activities (e.g. clubs, Student Association, volunteer activities)
Woori Education Scholarship
Awarded to an international student based on academic performance and community involvement. To qualify an applicant must:
- be an international student, with a valid Study Permit
- be registered in a full-time diploma or degree program
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 in at least two full semesters of consecutive study
- have participated in activities that have made a contribution to other students, their Department/School and/or the College community

For the 2022-2023 Academic Year –
Winter 2023 – opens on December 12, 2022, until January 29, 2023 (11:59 pm)
Spring 2023 – opens on April 17, 2023, until May 28, 2023 (11:59 pm)
For the 2023-2024 Academic Year –
Fall 2023 – Application opens on August 22, 2023, and closes on October 15, 2023
Winter 2023 – Application opens on December 12, 2023, and closes on February 15, 2024
Spring 2023 – Application opens on April 18, 2024, and closes on June 15, 2024

STEP 1: LOGIN
- Login to your STU-VIEW account.
- Click on the Student Awards tab.
- Select Apply for Student Awards.
- You will now see the Select Aid Year and Period page.
- Carefully read the instructions shown at the top of the page.
- Click on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.
- You will now see the Select an Application page.
STEP 2: COMPLETE YOUR STUDENT PROFILE
PLEASE NOTE: The student profile is where you will apply for College-Wide and Divisional awards.
STEP 3: APPLY FOR ADDITIONAL AWARDS
Scroll to select additional awards you are eligible for.
STEP 4: REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION(S)
STEP 5: CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION(S)
To check the status of your application(s):
- Click on the Student Awards tab
- Select View My Student Awards
- Select Continue
- Note the status of each award
